Job Overview
As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Dr. Ziauddin Hospital’s computer network systems. This includes installing, configuring, and maintaining the network infrastructure, troubleshooting network-related issues, and providing support to end-users. You will play a crucial role in the hospital’s efforts to ensure that its network is up to date, secure, and optimized for both present and future needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Configuration: Install and configure network devices such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi devices to ensure proper network connectivity.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Monitor the network to ensure it is operating efficiently, troubleshoot any network-related issues, and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and procedures for future reference.
- Electrical Safety Checks: Perform electrical safety checks on network switches and network racks to ensure operational safety.
- Capacity Planning: Plan and design network capacity to support future growth and infrastructure needs.
- User Support & Training: Provide technical support and training to end-users on network-related issues.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the networking field to improve infrastructure efficiency.
Knowledge & Competencies
- Network Systems Knowledge: Thorough understanding of network systems, IT components, and how they interact.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent troubleshooting abilities to resolve network issues quickly and efficiently.
- Time-Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Security & Privacy: Solid knowledge of internet security, data privacy principles, and protocols to ensure the hospital’s network remains secure.
Qualifications & Experience
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional Qualification: Proven experience in a similar role, such as a Computer Technician or Network Technician.
- Work Experience: 3-4 years of hands-on experience in network installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
