Dr. Ziauddin Hospital is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Pharmacist to join their pharmacy team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient management of pharmaceutical operations and providing essential support to patients and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have excellent pharmaceutical knowledge, experience in drug management, and the ability to lead and guide technical staff under the supervision of the pharmacy supervisor.

Job Overview:

The Pharmacist will manage the pharmacy under the guidance and supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor. The role involves supervising the technical and support staff, reviewing and interpreting physician orders, and ensuring the appropriate preparation of medications. The pharmacist will play a vital role in advising both patients and healthcare providers on medication usage, potential drug interactions, and ensuring the proper storage and safety of pharmaceutical supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unit Dose System (UDS): Timely running and accurate checking of UDS with timely delivery of medications.
• Inventory Management: Maintaining pharmaceutical inventories, ensuring proper storage conditions, and securing supplies. You will also be responsible for suggesting changes in par levels to minimize drug shortages.
• Patient and Provider Consultation: Advise patients and care providers on the potential drug interactions, possible side effects, and proper medication usage instructions.
• Drug Usage Monitoring: Restricting non-formulary drug usage in the hospital pharmacy.
• Quality Control: Ensuring the quality of purchased medicines, chemicals, antibiotics, biological products, and other pharmaceutical preparations.
• Infection Control: Adhering to and ensuring infection control protocols are followed within the pharmacy.
• Antibiotic Monitoring: Reviewing antibiotic forms and ensuring the appropriate use as per medical guidelines.

Knowledge & Competencies:

• Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Deep understanding of drugs, their dosages, substitutions, and their therapeutic categories.
• Latest Developments: Familiarity with the latest developments in the pharmaceutical field.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• IT Skills: Well-versed in using computer systems and IT for managing pharmaceutical tasks.

Requirements:

• Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or D-Pharmacy.
• Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Skills: Proficient in pharmaceutical management, drug interactions, and patient education.
