Job Summary:
The Trainee Pharmacist will work under the supervision of senior colleagues, assisting with dispensing medications, providing advice on dosage, and learning the processes involved in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. This role is ideal for fresh graduates looking to build their careers in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense Medications: Dispense prescribed medications accurately under supervision, ensuring safety and appropriateness for each patient.
- Medication Advice: Provide advice on medication dosages, and forms (e.g., tablets, injections, ointments), and ensure patient safety under senior staff guidance.
- Prescription Review: Check prescriptions for errors and confirm that they are suitable and safe for patients.
- Learn Medication Storage: Gain knowledge of proper medication storage, ensuring they are stored securely and appropriately.
- Patient and Public Interaction: Answer queries related to medications from hospital staff and the general public, assisting in their understanding of proper usage.
Knowledge & Competencies:
- Pharmaceutical Knowledge: A thorough understanding of drugs, their dosages, substitutions, and therapeutic categories.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to interact with hospital staff and the public.
- IT Skills: Well-versed in using computers and basic pharmacy software.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy/D-Pharmacy.
- Experience: Fresh graduates with no prior work experience in the pharmaceutical field are encouraged to apply.
