Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, established in 1957, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join their team. This is an essential role responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the hospital. The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure that all areas are maintained in a tidy, orderly, and hygienic state for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff.
Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, assigning duties to housekeeping staff, inspecting work, investigating complaints, and ensuring compliance with cleanliness and safety standards. This role plays a key part in the smooth operation of the hospital’s housekeeping services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assign housekeeping tasks to staff members and ensure that all duties are performed according to cleanliness standards.
- Inspect and monitor the work to ensure that cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
- Coordinate work activities among different shifts to ensure the workload is effectively distributed.
- Make recommendations to improve the efficiency and quality of the housekeeping services.
- Assess the need for repairs or replacement of furniture and equipment, and make necessary recommendations.
- Train new housekeeping employees and offer ongoing guidance, providing performance feedback.
- Ensure smooth coordination with other departments to address any issues that arise.
- Understand and adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of staff and patients.
Key Knowledge and Competencies:
- Cleaning and Disinfection Protocols: In-depth knowledge of hospital cleaning and disinfecting standards.
- Time Management: Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team management and interaction with other departments.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree plus a Housekeeping Course/Certification.
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in housekeeping management.
- Shift: Rotational shifts, flexibility required.
- Location: The role is based at the Clifton campus of Dr. Ziauddin Hospital.
