Job Summary:
As a Laboratory Technologist, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests to assist in patient diagnosis, treatment, and research. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate and timely test results, while working in collaboration with medical professionals and laboratory staff. This position requires proficiency in laboratory techniques, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical and biochemical tests independently under minimal supervision, adhering to departmental procedures and ensuring timely preparation of final reports.
- Ensure that appropriate controls (positive and negative) are run with each test or batch as per laboratory policy and requirements.
- Conduct routine technical procedures for internal and external quality control samples and surveys.
- Assist senior technologists in teaching and training junior staff, students, and trainees.
- Follow safety and quality standards in all laboratory processes to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely results.
- Maintain an organized and efficient work environment, ensuring all tests are completed on time and in accordance with protocols.
Knowledge and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex laboratory tasks.
- Good decision-making skills under minimal supervision.
- Sound knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Requirements:
- Education: BS in Medical Technology or a related field.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Shift: Rotational shifts, flexibility required.
- Skills: Knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and good communication skills.
