The Supervisor Accounts is a pivotal role within our finance team, acting as a key guardian of financial accuracy and process integrity. This position is designed for a Supervisor Accounts professional who is ready to move beyond basic accounting tasks and take on supervisory responsibilities. You will be ensuring the smooth operation of key accounting functions, contributing to the financial health of the organization, and providing reliable data for strategic decision-making. Your Key Responsibilities of Supervisor Accounts : The 5 Pillars of the Role
1. Financial Oversight and Reporting

Overseeing the preparation and verification of key financial statements, including trial balances, profit and loss accounts, and balance sheets.

Managing month-end and year-end closing procedures with precision and timeliness.

Coordinating with the audit teams, both internal and external, to facilitate smooth audits and address queries promptly.

Ensuring all financial reporting complies with the relevant accounting standards and corporate policies.
2. Process Management and Supervision

Supervising a team of accounting assistants and juniors, ensuring their work is accurate and deadlines are met.

Allocating tasks effectively and providing guidance and training to foster team growth and development.

Reviewing and approving journal entries, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents.

Streamlining accounting processes to enhance efficiency and reduce the risk of error.
3. Compliance and Internal Controls

Implementing and monitoring robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets.

Ensuring strict adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and financial regulations.

4. Technical and System Proficiency

Demonstrating advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems used within the firm.

Leveraging MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, at an advanced level for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.

Taking initiative in learning new systems and technologies to improve departmental capabilities.
5. Strategic Contribution and Analysis

Assisting management with budget preparation and financial forecasting.

What You Bring to the Role: Qualifications and Skills
Education and Certification

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential. A Master’s degree will be considered a strong advantage .

Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, or ICMA (whether qualified, finalist, or part-qualified) are highly preferred and will be a significant advantage .
Professional Experience

A minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience within an accounts or finance department .

Experience in a public accounting firm, a large corporate environment, or a reputable financial services institution is highly desirable.

Proven experience in a supervisory or team-lead capacity, demonstrating the ability to guide and mentor junior staff.
Technical Competencies

In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and general accounting principles.
