Job Description:

The Senior Manager – Taxation will play a pivotal role in the Taxation Department by leading tax advisory and compliance services for BDO’s clients. The ideal candidate should have strong client management experience, expertise in tax planning and compliance, and the ability to mentor and guide a team of tax professionals. Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and nurturing strong client relationships.
• Understand clients’ business needs and provide proactive, strategic tax advice.
• Act as the key advisor on a range of tax matters, ensuring clients are well-informed and compliant.

Tax Planning and Compliance:

• Lead and manage tax compliance engagements for various clients across industries.
• Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimize clients’ financial positions, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of tax professionals.
• Provide guidance on complex tax issues, ensuring high-quality work and timely delivery of services.

Research and Analysis:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in tax laws, regulations, and policies.
• Conduct thorough research on technical tax issues and offer innovative solutions to clients.

Business Development:

• Identify opportunities for new business and participate in business development activities.
• Contribute to the growth and success of the Tax Services practice by building relationships and networking within the industry.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

• Tax Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the tax laws applicable in Pakistan is essential. Experience in handling tax planning, compliance, and advisory services.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
• MS Office Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• IRIS Knowledge: Good knowledge and hands-on expertise in IRIS (online tax portal) is highly desirable.
• Leadership Ability: Ability to manage and guide teams, providing mentoring and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work.
• Qualifications:
  • Graduate/Master’s degree (Law degree would be a plus)
  • CA/ACCA (Qualified)
