Job Overview:
As the Sr. Manager – Commercial, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end operations of the company’s international logistics, including imports, exports, and customs clearance. You will ensure smooth and timely processing of goods, stay up-to-date with the latest regulations, and ensure compliance with all customs and trade laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Operations: Lead the import and export operations, ensuring all goods comply with customs regulations, including documentation, shipping, and clearance.
- Compliance & Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with customs regulations, SROs, FBR, SBP, and other relevant authorities. Stay updated with the latest trade regulations and government laws.
- Customs Clearance: Coordinate with Customs authorities for timely clearance of goods, resolve any disputes, and manage demurrage/detention issues effectively.
- Duty & Tax Exemptions: Ensure compliance for duty/tax exemptions like DTRE, Bond, Temporary Import, etc., and manage claims for duty drawbacks/rebates.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with vendors, banks, shipping lines, and government bodies to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Dispute Resolution: Handle any customs-related disputes and ensure minimal delays or penalties in operations.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or export-driven organization.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Custom Brokerage, DTRE, SROs, and customs clearance processes.
- Skills:
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team.
- Documentation & Compliance: High proficiency in handling regulatory compliance and extensive experience with logistics documentation.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively with shipping lines, vendors, and government bodies.
