Engro Corp, a leading conglomerate in Pakistan, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Deputy Manager Taxation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the tax compliance and planning activities of the organization. Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax returns, statements, and other tax-related documents.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Assist in tax planning initiatives to optimize the organization’s tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
- Coordinate and liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities on tax-related matters.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on tax-related issues and ensure adherence to tax policies and procedures.
- Perform tax reconciliations, tax calculations, and assist in the preparation of tax provisions and disclosures.
- Monitor and analyze tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper classification of tax transactions.
- Assist in tax audits and inquiries, responding to tax authorities’ queries and providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, legal, and business units, to ensure tax considerations are addressed in financial planning and decision-making processes.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, attending seminars and professional development programs to enhance tax knowledge and skills.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to taxation as assigned.
Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a specialization in taxation.
- Strong knowledge of Pakistani tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles.
- Experience in tax compliance, tax planning, and tax provision calculations.
- Proficiency in tax software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prior experience in taxation, preferably in a corporate environment or a reputable accounting firm, is an advantage.
