The Role: A Deep Dive into the Civil Team Leader Position

The Civil Team Leader will be the cornerstone of all civil engineering and infrastructural activities at our Bhalwal plant. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians, managing projects from conception to completion, and ensuring the structural integrity and operational readiness of the entire facility.

Your role will be multifaceted, involving strategic planning as a Civil Team Leader , hands-on supervision, and rigorous compliance management. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what you will be accountable for:

1. Project Management & Execution

   • Lead the planning, design, and execution of new civil construction projects, including new production lines, warehouses, utilities, and administrative buildings.

   • Prepare detailed project plans, including scope definition, budget estimation, resource allocation, and time schedules.

   • Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

   • Manage project budgets meticulously, controlling costs and avoiding overruns through proactive financial oversight.

2. Maintenance & Asset Integrity

   • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for all civil assets, including buildings, roads, drainage systems, and water structures.

   • Conduct regular inspections of the plant infrastructure to identify areas requiring repair, renovation, or improvement.

   • Lead troubleshooting efforts for any civil-related issues, providing swift and effective solutions to minimize operational downtime.

3. Team Leadership & Development

   • Directly supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of civil engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

   • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability within the team.

   • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and facilitate the professional growth of team members.

   • Delegate tasks effectively while providing the necessary support and guidance for successful completion.

4. Contractor & Vendor Management

   • Manage relationships with external contractors, consultants, and suppliers.

   • Evaluate contractor bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure that all third-party work complies with Fauji Foods’ stringent quality and safety protocols.

   • Supervise contractor activities on-site to guarantee work is performed as per agreed standards.

5. Compliance, Safety & Documentation

   • Ensure all civil works strictly comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental laws.

   • Champion a zero-incident safety culture on all project sites, conducting regular safety audits and briefings.

   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, reports, completion certificates, and as-built maps.

6. Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving

   • Provide technical guidance on all civil engineering matters, including structural analysis, material selection, and construction methodologies.

   • Utilize software tools like AutoCAD, MS Project, and SAP for design, planning, and maintenance management.

   • Analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

   • Collaborate closely with other departments, including Production, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Finance, to ensure civil projects support overall business objectives.

   • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.

Education & Experience

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSc/B.Tech) from a recognized university.

• Experience: A solid 6 to 8 years of relevant, hands-on experience in civil construction and project management. Experience in an industrial setting, preferably within FMCG, pharmaceuticals, or a dairy plant, will be a significant advantage.

Technical Skills & Competencies for Civil Team Leader :

• Project Management Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in managing the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure.

• In-depth Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, structural mechanics, building codes, and civil engineering principles.

• Software Literacy: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office (especially MS Project), and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP is highly desirable.

• Budgeting & Cost Control: Proven ability to develop and manage project budgets effectively.
