Master Group of Industries, a leading player in the FMCG sector, is seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Purchase to oversee and manage the end-to-end procurement process for its production facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth production, cost efficiency, and timely material availability across all locations. This is a key leadership role within the company, demanding a strategic approach to procurement, vendor management, and material control.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
As the Head of Purchase, your main responsibilities will include:
- Procurement Management:
- Plan and manage the procurement of essential raw materials, chemicals, packaging, spare parts, and general supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Vendor Relationships & Negotiations:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers. You will conduct negotiations to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms to meet the company’s needs.
- Purchase Order Processing:
- Prepare and process purchase orders in alignment with material requirements and production schedules. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving purchase orders and contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
- Material & Equipment Specifications:
- Lead the development of specifications for materials and equipment, including alternatives, in coordination with relevant departments to support production goals.
- Market Analysis:
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and delivery lead times to forecast material availability. You will proactively address potential shortages by taking necessary action.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Maintain close coordination with vendors and track shipments rigorously to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Procurement Budget Control:
- Monitor and control the procurement budget, ensuring cost efficiency while meeting operational and material needs.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- BBA/MBA in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 12-15 years of relevant experience in the FMCG sector.
- Proven track record in procurement, vendor management, and material control within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and market trend analysis.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in procurement software, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
