We are currently looking for a Lab Technologist / Technician to join our dedicated healthcare team at the Sukkur Campus. This position offers a chance to be part of a prestigious hospital while contributing to the essential work in the medical laboratory.
Position Overview
As a Lab Technologist / Technician, you will perform clinical and biochemical tests independently under minimal supervision, ensuring the timely preparation of accurate and final reports. The role involves handling various technical tasks, from specimen analysis to entering test data, while following stringent safety and laboratory protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical and Biochemical Testing: Perform tests according to departmental procedures, ensuring accurate and timely report preparation.
- Training and Mentoring: Assist senior/charge technologists in teaching and training junior staff, students, and trainees.
- Safety Compliance: Follow and help implement safety standards in accordance with the Laboratory Safety Manual to ensure both your safety and that of others.
- Quality Control: Ensure that appropriate controls (negative & positive) are run for each test batch according to laboratory policies.
- Sample Handling: Confirm the suitability of specimens and manage their processing with attention to detail as per laboratory protocols.
- Data Entry: Enter patient data and test results into the system accurately, whether through computer or manual entry.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Technology or equivalent.
- Alternatively, a Diploma in Medical Technology is acceptable.
- Experience:
- 1 to 4 years of clinical laboratory experience, ideally in a similar healthcare setting.
Skills and Competencies
- Clinical Testing: Proficient knowledge in clinical and biochemical testing procedures.
- Safety Standards: Understanding and implementation of laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance practices.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform accurate testing and reporting with meticulous attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for addressing technical challenges in testing.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure timely results.
