Position: Sports Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Organization and Management:
- Plan, organize, and manage various sports events within Denning, ensuring smooth execution and high participation.
- Coordinate in-house university sports tournaments, overseeing all aspects from planning to execution.
- Track and manage the organization of inter-university tournaments, ensuring Denning’s active participation in sports such as football, cricket, and throwball.
- Team Management:
- Handle administrative details related to student athletes, including tracking attendance, player statistics, and other relevant activities for all sports events.
- Coordinate with coaches and trainers to ensure that teams are well-prepared for games and events.
- Oversee event booking and logistics to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Marketing and Outreach:
- Promote the team and its events through various channels, including social media, community involvement, and other outreach methods.
- Work to increase visibility and engagement in Denning’s sports programs, encouraging broader student participation.
- Intra-University Coordination:
- Organize all intra-university sports tournaments, leagues, and related events, collaborating closely with the sports coordinator and other stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless communication and coordination across all campuses to maintain a cohesive sports program.
- Mobility and Liaison:
- Ensure regular mobility across all campuses to liaise effectively with students, coaches, and other staff involved in sports activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in organizing and managing sports events or similar activities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with coaches, students, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using social media and other marketing tools to promote sports events.
- A passion for sports and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive sports culture within the university.
