Position Criteria:
- Education: MCS/MIT/MSc (Software Engineering) or relevant diploma/certifications.
- Alternatively, BS in Software Engineering (BSCS) or 16 years of education in a relevant field.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in database designing and management.
- Relevant diploma/certifications in the field.
- International Tier 2 certification in Oracle Database will be preferred.
Job Responsibilities: As an Oracle Certified Professional – Database Administrator, you will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including:
- Installing Oracle software and creating Oracle databases.
- Starting up and shutting down the database.
- Installing Oracle RAC and enabling Oracle database/application live replication at the DR site.
- Managing database storage structures.
- Managing users and security.
- Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views.
- Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary.
- Proactively monitoring the database’s health and taking preventive and corrective actions as required.
- Monitoring and tuning performance, including tuning all Oracle instance components, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Monitoring the concurrent manager.
- Approving changes to the database design.
- Managing Meta link Users and managing Service Requests (Meta link).
- Preparing monthly performance/tuning parameter reports.
- Managing application installations on new computers.
- Maintaining user IDs (creation, enabling, disabling).
- Assigning responsibilities to all users.
- Document sequencing for all users.
- Installing ADI for data transfer from PC to the server.
- Application performance tuning.
