Position Criteria:

  • Education: MCS/MIT/MSc (Software Engineering) or relevant diploma/certifications.
  • Alternatively, BS in Software Engineering (BSCS) or 16 years of education in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in database designing and management.
  • Relevant diploma/certifications in the field.
  • International Tier 2 certification in Oracle Database will be preferred.

Job Responsibilities: As an Oracle Certified Professional – Database Administrator, you will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including:

  • Installing Oracle software and creating Oracle databases.
  • Starting up and shutting down the database.
  • Installing Oracle RAC and enabling Oracle database/application live replication at the DR site.
  • Managing database storage structures.
  • Managing users and security.
  • Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views.
  • Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary.
  • Proactively monitoring the database’s health and taking preventive and corrective actions as required.
  • Monitoring and tuning performance, including tuning all Oracle instance components, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Monitoring the concurrent manager.
  • Approving changes to the database design.
  • Managing Meta link Users and managing Service Requests (Meta link).
  • Preparing monthly performance/tuning parameter reports.
  • Managing application installations on new computers.
  • Maintaining user IDs (creation, enabling, disabling).
  • Assigning responsibilities to all users.
  • Document sequencing for all users.
  • Installing ADI for data transfer from PC to the server.
  • Application performance tuning.
