Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, a well-established healthcare provider since 1957, is currently hiring an Assistant Manager for Molecular Pathology. Role Overview:
As the Assistant Manager of Molecular Pathology, you will be responsible for overseeing the molecular pathology laboratory’s daily operations, including participating in the implementation of new tests using advanced molecular technologies. You will ensure the highest quality and safety standards in the lab, and contribute to the education and training of junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Molecular Assays: Oversee complex molecular assays, including real-time PCR, end-point PCR, NGS, methylation-specific PCR, and other molecular techniques.
- Molecular Diagnostic Testing: Conduct molecular diagnostic assays for organ transplant patients, ensuring accuracy and timely results.
- Genetic Testing: Perform MLPA-based testing for human genetic disorders.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control and assurance protocols to maintain laboratory standards.
- Team Collaboration & Development: Foster a collaborative environment within the team, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Daily Workflow Management: Ensure that patient reports are prepared, reviewed, and dispatched on time to meet the laboratory’s high standards.
- Technological Advancements: Stay up to date with emerging molecular technologies and contribute to their implementation within the laboratory.
Required Knowledge & Competencies:
- Molecular Techniques Expertise: In-depth knowledge of molecular techniques like PCR, RT-PCR, NGS, FISH, and sequencing.
- Laboratory Management Systems: Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems (QMS) and accreditation standards such as ISO 15189 or CAP.
- Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to manage a team and ensure operational efficiency.
- Laboratory Information Systems (LIS): Proficiency in using laboratory information systems and data reporting tools to track and manage test results.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Academic Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related biological sciences. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Work Experience: At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a molecular pathology laboratory is required.
