Key Accountabilities:

As an Assistant Manager – Claims, you will be entrusted with several key responsibilities critical to our operations. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Claims Evaluation: Your primary task will involve evaluating various types of claims, including Group, Ordinary, Credit Life, Disability, Accident Medical Reimbursement, Bancassurance, outpatient, and in-hospitalization claims. You will meticulously review each claim against policy terms and conditions and make recommendations for approval.
  2. End-to-End Claim Handling: From the moment a claim is received to its settlement, you will oversee the entire process. This includes corresponding with clients, agents, and investigators to address any queries or concerns they may have regarding their claims.
  3. Coordination and Monitoring: You will be the linchpin between different departments, particularly the Accounts Department, ensuring seamless coordination for claims payments. Additionally, you’ll monitor team reports, provide necessary direction, and keep the head of the department informed of pertinent information.
  4. Operational Support: Your role will also entail coordinating operational tasks to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in claims processing.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Behaviors:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following attributes:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree coupled with 4-5 years of relevant experience will equip you with the necessary knowledge and expertise.
  • Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with health matters such as diseases, deficiencies, and medicines will be advantageous in assessing claims accurately.
  • Negotiation & Persuasion: You should demonstrate strong negotiation skills to handle claim disputes effectively and persuade stakeholders when necessary.
  • Accountability: Taking ownership of your responsibilities and ensuring that claims are handled with integrity and accuracy is paramount.
  • Communication: Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, is essential for liaising with clients, agents, and internal stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Collaboration is key in our environment. You should be adept at working within a team to achieve common goals and objectives.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of IGI Life Insurance, reporting directly to the Senior Manager. The position is based in Karachi and offers a permanent contract.
