About the Manager Quality Position

A Quality Manager ensures that products meet the company’s quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. In washing machine manufacturing, this involves monitoring production processes, inspecting components and finished products, investigating defects, and ensuring that quality systems are followed.

At Haier, this position covers manufacturing activities such as moulding, assembly, fusing, and bending. The manager will also work with suppliers, production teams, and other relevant departments to reduce defects and improve product reliability.

This is a senior-level role requiring technical knowledge, leadership skills, and practical experience in quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain Quality Standards in Manufacturing

The Manager Quality will oversee product quality across different washing machine manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained during moulding, assembly, fusing, and bending.
  • Conducting and overseeing quality inspections.
  • Monitoring production performance and identifying quality-related issues.
  • Analyzing product defects and determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensuring products meet established specifications and internal quality requirements.

Effective quality control helps reduce defective products, rework, production losses, and customer complaints.

2. Implement ISO Management Systems

The role requires knowledge of three important ISO standards:

  • ISO 9001: Quality management systems.
  • ISO 14001: Environmental management systems.
  • ISO 45001: Occupational health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities include implementing these standards, maintaining compliance with company procedures, supporting internal audits, and addressing identified gaps.

The manager will need to ensure that relevant quality processes and documentation remain consistent with applicable requirements.

3. Defect Analysis and Corrective Actions

A major part of the position involves identifying why quality problems occur and preventing them from recurring.

The manager will:

  • Analyze defects found during manufacturing and inspection.
  • Investigate recurring quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of improvement measures.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve quality problems.

Root cause analysis focuses on finding the underlying reason for a problem rather than simply correcting its visible symptoms.

4. Customer Complaints and Supplier Quality

The Manager Quality will investigate customer complaints and work with suppliers to improve product and material quality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Investigating customer complaints related to washing machine quality.
  • Identifying whether issues originate from raw materials, packaging, work-in-process (WIP), or finished products.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to address material-quality problems.
  • Working with internal teams to implement corrective measures.
  • Monitoring improvements to prevent repeated defects.

Supplier coordination is important because the quality of incoming materials and components can directly affect the final product.

5. Employee Training and Quality Improvement

The position also requires employee development and continuous improvement activities.

Key duties include:

  • Training employees on quality procedures and standards.
  • Promoting Kaizen initiatives.
  • Monitoring the calibration of inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Leading daily OEC meetings, as specified in the advertisement.
  • Encouraging teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

Kaizen is a continuous improvement approach focused on making ongoing, practical improvements to processes, efficiency, and quality.

The advertisement does not define OEC, so applicants should confirm the company’s specific meaning and meeting responsibilities during recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants should hold a BSc degree in one of the following fields:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Quality Management

Candidates should ensure that their educational background meets the requirements stated in the advertisement.

Required Experience

Haier requires 8–10 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Relevant experience may include:

  • Managing quality inspections during production.
  • Monitoring manufacturing defects and rejection rates.
  • Implementing quality management systems.
  • Conducting quality audits.
  • Investigating customer and supplier quality issues.
  • Leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Managing quality improvement initiatives and employee training.

Experience in appliance manufacturing or similar industrial production environments would be relevant to this position.
