About the Role
The Import Executive (Post-Shipment) will be responsible for managing all post-shipment import activities, ensuring smooth coordination between shipping lines, ports, customs authorities, and internal departments.
This role requires strong knowledge of international trade operations, import documentation, cost calculation, and ERP-based invoice processing (SAP). The candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely clearance, accurate financial recording, and efficient import cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Import Documentation & Coordination
- Manage complete import documentation process
- Coordinate with shipping lines, ports, and customs clearing agents
- Ensure smooth handling of shipment arrivals and clearances
Customs & Logistics Support
- Liaise with customs clearing agencies for timely clearance
- Resolve import-related operational issues
- Monitor shipment progress and update internal teams
Invoice Reconciliation
- Reconcile invoices from shipping lines, ports, and customs agents
- Ensure accuracy in charges and documentation
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing
Landed Cost Calculation
- Calculate landed cost of imported goods
- Include freight, duties, taxes, and related charges
- Support accurate cost reporting for finance and supply chain teams
SAP & Financial Processing
- Process Accounts Payable (AP) invoices in SAP
- Ensure correct posting of import-related financial entries
- Maintain accuracy in ERP-based financial records
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade policies
- Maintain proper records of import transactions
- Assist in reporting and audit requirements
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Requirements
Candidates must have one of the following degrees:
- BBA
- B.Com
- MBA (Finance)
- ICMA
- Or equivalent qualification in Finance or Supply Chain
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in import management
- Preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Letters of Credit (LC)
- Understanding of Incoterms (International Commercial Terms)
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems (preferred)
Analytical Skills
- Strong ability to calculate landed costs
- Attention to detail in invoice reconciliation
- Problem-solving in logistics and import operations
Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to coordinate with external vendors and internal departments
- Professional handling of customs and shipping interactions
Preferred Candidate Profile
Preference will be given to candidates who:
- Reside near Manga Raiwind Road, Lahore
- Have hands-on SAP or ERP experience
