Role Overview:

The Senior School Teacher position at UCS involves teaching one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies, Computer Science, Urdu, Economics, Business Studies, or Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Cambridge IGCSE/O Level curriculum, teaching experience, and academic leadership skills to contribute effectively to the academic success of students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Delivery: Ensure that teaching materials, lesson plans, and academic resources are in line with the Cambridge IGCSE/O Level curriculum.
• Subject Expertise: Deliver high-quality instruction in the designated subject, ensuring the subject matter is engaging, relevant, and aligns with educational standards.
• Assessment & Evaluation: Design, implement, and grade assessments, quizzes, and assignments based on Cambridge’s assessment criteria.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a student-centered, engaging, and disciplined classroom environment that fosters learning.
• Academic Leadership: Support the academic head in curriculum delivery, and contribute to decision-making processes related to academic planning.
• Professional Development: Participate in training programs, workshops, and meetings to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with teaching strategies and tools.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other faculty members and departments to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded learning experience for students.

Core Competencies & Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications: BS/Master’s degree in the relevant subject (preferably with an O/A Level background).
• Teaching Experience: 3-5 years of teaching experience in IGCSE/O Level, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or academic leadership role.
• Subject Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE/O/A Level assessment criteria, examiner reports, and paper approaches.
• Digital Competency: Proficiency in MS-Office, Google Workspace, and other digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
• Curriculum Design: Ability to develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessments that align with the Cambridge curriculum.
• Online Teaching: Familiarity with online teaching tools and strategies for effective virtual learning.
• Classroom Management: Strong skills in differentiated instruction, student engagement, and classroom management.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
