Imtiaz, a leading retail chain in Karachi, Pakistan, is seeking an entry-level Officer – Taxation to join our finance department. As an Officer – Taxation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, managing tax-related documentation, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, possess analytical skills, and are eager to kickstart their career in taxation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintain and update tax-related documentation, including invoices, receipts, and expense records, in an organized manner.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly tax reports for management review.
• Conduct tax research to stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations on tax planning and optimization.
• Assist in tax audits and respond to tax-related queries from tax authorities, providing necessary information and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and legal, to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
• Monitor and reconcile tax accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
• Assist in identifying tax-saving opportunities and implementing tax-efficient strategies.
• Stay updated with tax-related software and tools to enhance efficiency in tax compliance and reporting.
• Support the finance team in other financial tasks and projects as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations in Pakistan.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data accurately.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
