Utopia Industries (Pvt) Ltd, located in Karachi, Sindh, is currently seeking a skilled Deputy Manager Engineering for our Machine Manufacturing department. This pivotal role involves overseeing machine production, ensuring quality standards, and driving process improvements to achieve manufacturing targets efficiently.
Job Overview
As the Deputy Manager Engineering (Machine Manufacturing), you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the production of machinery and related products. You will lead a team, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and contribute to strategic decision-making aligned with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Production Management: Assist in managing the design, development, and manufacturing processes for a range of machinery and metal products.
- Cost Management: Support in costing, budgeting, and project feasibility assessments to ensure cost-efficient operations.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to manufacturing schedules, quality standards, and efficiency targets. Implement strict quality control measures.
- Team Leadership: Provide direction and support to the manufacturing team, fostering collaboration and optimizing performance.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate manpower, machinery, and materials to enhance productivity and safety.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in machine manufacturing.
- Safety and Compliance: Establish and maintain a robust safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication within the manufacturing department and with other teams.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering from a reputable university.
- 7 to 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles, with strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and processes.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, interpreting engineering drawings, and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Project management skills including costing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and familiarity with 5-S and Kaizen methodologies.
