Job Overview
Utopia is hiring a Sr. Manager – Production (Knitted Garments) who will oversee and manage the entire Knits Cut to Pack operation. The ideal candidate will drive performance excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the production teams, ensuring that productivity, quality, and efficiency goals are met consistently. This senior managerial role is pivotal in optimizing resources and aligning production efforts with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Production Activities: Lead the team in meeting production goals while optimizing resources to ensure quality and timely delivery of products.
- Production Strategy Implementation: Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and achieve production targets.
- Monitor Performance Indicators: Track and control key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and cost.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams such as planning, quality assurance, and maintenance to address production challenges and foster continuous improvement.
- Team Development: Manage and train production teams, ensuring ongoing professional development and a culture of high performance.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present production reports, analyze trends, and recommend strategic initiatives for process improvement.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering (IE), or a related field.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years in garment operations, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of fabric types, sewing techniques, and garment construction.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and production planning.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to assess production performance.
