Your Mission: Governing the Future of Information Security

As the Senior Manager PMO , your core mission is to establish and maintain the governance framework for the Information Security division’s project portfolio. You will be the central force ensuring that critical security initiatives—from new technology implementations to compliance-driven programs—are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will not be merely tracking tasks; you will be providing the strategic oversight that aligns every project with the bank’s overarching risk appetite and business objectives. Your work ensures that our cybersecurity defenses evolve in lockstep with emerging threats and technological advancements.


A Detailed Look at the Role and Responsibilities of Senior Manager PMO :

Your role as a Senior Manager PMO is multifaceted, blending strategic planning with meticulous execution management. You will serve as the nexus between technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

1. Strategic Portfolio Governance & Oversight

You will be the architect of the project management discipline within the Information Security domain.

  • Establish and maintain the Senior Manager PMO framework, defining standardized project management methodologies, templates, and tools specifically tailored for information security initiatives.

  • Govern the entire project portfolio for the Information Security division, providing a holistic view of all active, pending, and completed projects.

  • Ensure strategic alignment by verifying that every proposed and active project directly supports the bank’s key information security goals and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Facilitate the project prioritization process, working with leadership to allocate resources to the most critical and high-impact initiatives.

2. End-to-End Project Lifecycle Management

You will provide hands-on guidance and oversight throughout the entire lifespan of a project.

  • Champion the project initiation process, ensuring business cases are robust, objectives are clear, and success metrics are defined.

  • Oversee project planning, reviewing and validating project charters, scope documents, work breakdown structures, schedules, and resource plans.

  • Monitor execution closely, tracking progress against milestones, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Manage project closure, conducting post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and measure ROI against initial objectives.

3. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

You will be the primary source of truth regarding the status and health of the information security project portfolio.

  • Develop and deliver clear, concise, and comprehensive status reports for senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and other governance forums, presenting project updates, escalating risks, and supporting key decision-making processes.

  • Act as a central communication hub, ensuring transparency and alignment between technical teams, business units, and third-party vendors involved in security projects.

4. Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management

Your proactive approach will identify and mitigate obstacles before they impact critical security deliverables.

  • Implement a standardized process for identifying, logging, and tracking project risks and issues across the entire portfolio.

  • Work with project managers and teams to develop effective mitigation and contingency plans.

  • Map and manage cross-project dependencies, ensuring that interrelated initiatives remain synchronized and potential bottlenecks are addressed proactively.

5. Resource Management & Capacity Planning

You will ensure that the division has the right people and skills to execute its ambitious project roadmap.

  • Provide visibility into resource allocation across all information security projects.

  • Support capacity planning by forecasting future resource needs based on the project pipeline.

  • Identify resource constraints and work with leadership to address gaps through training, hiring, or strategic outsourcing.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong skills in budget management, forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis for complex projects.

  • Technical Fluency: A solid understanding of information security concepts, technologies, and regulatory landscapes (e.g., PCI DSS, local banking regulations) is crucial to effectively manage this specific portfolio.

  • Tool Proficiency: High proficiency with PMO software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Clarity) and the Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in project and program management, with a significant portion spent within a PMO function.

  • Demonstrable experience managing a portfolio of projects in a highly regulated industry, with a strong preference for financial services, banking, or technology.

  • Direct experience with Information Security or IT Risk projects is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
