About the Compressor Incharge Role
The Compressor Incharge will be responsible for supervising the plant’s compressed-air and refrigeration systems. This includes both high-pressure (HP) and low-pressure (LP) air compressors, along with ammonia compressors, condensers and associated cooling systems.
The position combines equipment operation, maintenance supervision, troubleshooting, safety compliance, record keeping and team leadership.
Since compressed air and refrigeration are important utilities in beverage and other FMCG manufacturing operations, the selected candidate will also coordinate with production and utilities teams to help maintain an uninterrupted supply to plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will supervise the daily operation of HP and LP air compressors as well as ammonia compressors, condensers and cooling systems. Important operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, oil levels, cooling-water flow and refrigerant levels must be regularly monitored.
The Compressor Incharge will oversee planned, scheduled, preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the compressor systems. This includes ensuring proper lubrication, timely oil changes, and replacement of filters and other consumables according to established SOPs.
Another important responsibility is carrying out and supervising the safe startup and shutdown of ammonia compressors.
The role also requires identifying and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems affecting compressors and their associated systems. Abnormal conditions such as unusual sounds, excessive vibration, leaks or changes in equipment performance must be detected and appropriately reported.
Operational Records and Reporting
Accurate documentation is an important part of this position.
The selected candidate will maintain daily operational logs, inspection sheets, pressure and temperature readings, oil-level records, equipment downtime reports and service histories for both air and ammonia compressor systems.
Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office will therefore be useful for maintenance records, reporting and related administrative work.
Ammonia and Workplace Safety
Because the position involves ammonia refrigeration systems, safety is a particularly important responsibility.
The Compressor Incharge must enforce ammonia-handling safety procedures, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), monitoring of NH3 leak-detection systems and following emergency procedures in the event of an ammonia leak or system failure.
All operational and maintenance activities must comply with relevant safety and environmental requirements as well as company regulations and SOPs.
Energy Efficiency and Plant Reliability
In addition to keeping equipment operational, the Compressor Incharge will be expected to monitor compressor performance and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
This includes minimizing compressed-air leakages and ensuring compressor systems operate efficiently while meeting the plant’s operational requirements.
The candidate will coordinate closely with the utilities and production teams to support uninterrupted compressed-air and refrigeration availability.
Team Leadership Responsibilities
This is also a supervisory role. The selected professional will lead compressor operators and technicians while providing technical guidance and support.
Candidates should therefore have practical technical knowledge as well as the ability to train staff, supervise maintenance work, enforce safety requirements and respond effectively when equipment problems occur.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
Applicants should have a DAE in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Haidri Beverages requires candidates to have at least 6–8 years of FMCG or industrial experience specifically involving air and ammonia compressor operations and maintenance.
Candidates should also have hands-on experience with:
- Air compressor operations, including HP and LP systems

- Preventive and corrective maintenance
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Compressor safety procedures
- SAP
- Microsoft Office
- Maintenance and operational documentation

Who Should Apply?
This position is particularly relevant for experienced professionals currently working as Compressor Incharge, Compressor Supervisor, Utilities Supervisor, Mechanical Supervisor, Refrigeration Supervisor, Ammonia Plant Operator, Senior Compressor Operator, or in similar industrial maintenance and utilities positions.
Candidates coming from beverage, food processing, FMCG, manufacturing or other industrial plants with direct exposure to air compressors and ammonia refrigeration systems may find their experience particularly relevant.
