About the Role
The Assistant Manager – Accounts will be responsible for supporting and supervising the company’s day-to-day accounting activities. The position involves more than maintaining financial records—it requires oversight of receivables and payables, bank reconciliations, import-related banking matters, internal controls, costing, and working capital management.
The successful candidate will also work closely with departments such as Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, and Warehouse to ensure financial information is accurate and available on time.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to:
- Supervise daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely month-end book closing.
- Monitor accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP).
- Review and manage bank reconciliations.
- Handle Letters of Credit (LCs), bank contracts, and financial matters related to import shipments.
- Coordinate and communicate with banks regarding imports and financing requirements.
- Help develop and improve accounting policies and internal financial controls.
- Establish and monitor costing standards and analyze operational costs.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, and Warehouse teams for accurate financial data.
- Support effective working capital management.
- Assist with financial reporting and ensure accounting information is reliable and up to date.
Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants should have an M.Com or MBA, with a specialization in Finance preferred.
Candidates should also have approximately 5–6 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance. Experience within the retail industry will be particularly valuable because the role requires coordination with retail, inventory, merchandising, warehouse, and supply-chain functions.
Skills Required
Candidates should have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, costing, and financial controls will be important.
The company is also looking for candidates with:

- Experience working with ERP systems
